I fully agree. Estate a...Excellent article Rebecca! I fully agree. Estate agents in France are mandated by the seller and are supposed to represent the sellers' interests with respect to the sale of their property. They do not have a contractual arrangement with the buyer and obviously can't represent both sides. Yet they tend to call any house hunter who contacts them a "client". Glaring conflict of interest situation! Even when contacting the seller they don't hide this at all! "Oui, bonjour Madame, I have clients here who would like to view your house today". Seller says: "Clients, but I thought I was the client?" Oops! The answer is; the client is their own pocket. They just want to make a sale. Can't blame them really, it's how the system is set up in France. In many countries it is standard for buyers to engage a property search agent to act on their behalf; in France this is still a relatively new concept. It's fantastic news that buyers now have the ability to engage true property search companies like yours, who act in their interest and their interest alone and have no ties to any particular estate agent.Sophia M.noreply@blogger.com
